How do you grow Bupleurum from seed?
You can direct sow the seeds if you like. The seeds need light to germinate so don’t cover them too much. Bupleurum has a taproot and therefore is not easy to transplant if you grow them in seed trays for too long.
The green foliage has a fantastic vase life and if you sow them in succession you can enjoy it all summer long. We especially like to cut the stems after the plants have flowered because the seedpods are not yellow and look very well with late summer flowering plants.
