Bupleurum rotundifolium Griffithii seeds
Bupleurum is an easy-to-grow bouquet filler also known as Hare’s-ear or Thorow-wax. Bupleurum is a native plant in many counties in Europe! This variety grows small light yellow flowers and the foliage looks a bit like eucalyptus.

Planting information to grow Bupleurum from seed:
Plant type: hardy annual
Height: 60-80 centimeters
Position: full sun
Start: 4-6 weeks before the last frost or in autumn
Germination: 7-14 days, seeds need light to germinate!
Number of days until plants bloom: 80-90 days
Distance between the plants: 20 to 30 centimeters
Pinching: no
Number of seeds per pack: 100

How do you grow Bupleurum from seed?
You can direct sow the seeds if you like. The seeds need light to germinate so don’t cover them too much. Bupleurum has a taproot and therefore is not easy to transplant if you grow them in seed trays for too long.
The green foliage has a fantastic vase life and if you sow them in succession you can enjoy it all summer long. We especially like to cut the stems after the plants have flowered because the seedpods are not yellow and look very well with late summer flowering plants.
