Productinformation
Dwarf cherry tomato variety Tiny Tim (Solanum lycopersicum)
For those with small gardens or those interested in cultivating productive plants in pots, this dwarf tomato variety Tiny Tim may be an ideal choice. Maja typically grows to a height of around half a meter and yields delightful round tomatoes throughout the summer months. It is important to bear in mind that potted plants require regular nourishment since limited space means fewer nutrients and less soil life (such as worms) to support their growth.
Tiny Tim is a very early-producing tomato. The plants produce a lot but their growing season is a bit shorter compared to other varieties. The bushy plants don’t need any support. The tiny tomatoes are perfect for salads or as a healthy snack!
Sowing and harvesting
- Start indoors in March or April
- Seeds germinate within a few days if the soil is warm (20-25°C)
- Give tomatoes plenty of light when you start plants indoors
- Transplant seedlings after a few weeks to large pots (P9 or 15 cell trays)
- Plant out after the frost has passed and grow them in a very sunny spot.
- Choose a pot that is at least 5 to 10 liters (the size of a small bucket) for a decent size plant.
Growing advice
- Water regularly to keep your plant healthy
- Stop watering at the end of the season to ripen fruits
- feed regularly with organic fertilizer, producing fruits is hard work!
