How do you grow Ammi from seed?
Queen Anne’s lace or Ammi plants grow a taproot and don’t like root disturbance. You can direct sow them or plant them out as small seedlings before they become rootbound. We recommend growing them in de high 40 cell seed tray. For the best result start seeds in autumn in the greenhouse and plant them out in early spring or in late autumn if your soil is not too soggy. You can pick the flowers when about half the flowers are opening on the stems. Don’t pick them too early because the stems will not be firm enough. Autumn-sown plants generally grow taller and stronger and flower earlier compared to spring-started plants. Plants need support.
