Productinformation

Antirrhinum majus, Snapdragon Madame Butterfly Bronze flower seeds
By far the snapdragon that gets the most positive feedback in the garden is the Madame Butterfly Bronze. The flowers are double and gradually change color from bronze to a light soft pink peach. The stems are nice and thick making this a very good cut flower. We did support the plants with one layer of netting because there is strong wind in our garden.
We only got a limited amount of seeds so if you like to grow this flower don’t wait too long! The seeds have a high germination rate and come from a professional grower to assure color and quality.

How to grow Snapdragon Madame Butterfly Bronze from seed
Snapdragons have probably the tiniest seeds of all! Difficult to sow I have to admit but very rewarding. Because the seeds are so small and they need light to germinate I never cover the seeds. You can start seeds in the autumn if your winter is mild or in early spring in seed trays in a greenhouse polytunnel or window sill. The plants are half-hardy and can be planted out in late spring. due to the heavy tall stems, plants need support. Snapdragons will continually flower as long as you remove the dead flowers. You can cut them back deep into the plant and new shoots will appear just below where you cut the stems. Snapdragons are fantastic cut flowers. Pick the stems when the first few flowers are opening and strip most of the foliage. We have had stems lasting up to two weeks!
