Antirrhinum majus, Snapdragon Madame Butterfly Pink flower seeds
If you have not tried the butterfly snapdragon, give them a try! They will be your new favorite snapdragon. The flowers are not shaped like dragon heads but open en double! This is the pink variety of the madame butterfly series. We will soon add more detailed pictures from our field. And best of all the flowers smell amazing! The plants are very easy to grow and require little care. If winter is mild the plants usually survive and flower again early in their second year. You can also take some cuttings and grow them in your greenhouse in winter.

How to grow Snapdragon Madame Butterfly Pink from seed
Snapdragons have probably the tiniest seeds of all! Difficult to sow I have to admit but very rewarding. Because the seeds are so small and they need light to germinate I never cover the seeds. You can start seeds in the autumn if your winter is mild or in early spring in seed trays in a greenhouse polytunnel or window sill. The plants are half-hardy and can be planted out in late spring. due to the heavy tall stems, plants need support. Snapdragons will continually flower as long as you remove the dead flowers. You can cut them back deep into the plant and new shoots will appear just below where you cut the stems. Snapdragons are fantastic cut flowers. Pick the stems when around one-third or half of the flowers are opening and strip most of the foliage. We have had stems lasting up to two weeks!
