Description

If you've noticed holes and tunnels in your vegetable garden or lawn, and your tulips are being eaten but there are no molehills, you're likely dealing with voles.

Voles primarily feed on plants, roots, and grasses, and their extensive tunneling can cause significant damage. With a lack of natural predators, voles can become a major problem. Our copper wire vole traps, also known as Swiss ring traps, offer an effective solution.

More info

How to Catch Voles:

  1. Wear Gloves: Always wear gloves to prevent your scent from alerting voles. Rub the traps with soil to neutralize any scent.
  2. Locate Tunnels: Use a metal pin, thin wooden stick, or bamboo stick to poke into the soil. When you hit a hollow area, it's time to dig.
  3. Open the Tunnel: With gloves on, open the soil and locate the active tunnel. Ensure the tunnel is open and voles are actively passing through.
  4. Set the Traps: Load the clamps or Swiss ring traps with their openings pointing to the left and right sides of the tunnel. Position the springs back-to-back in the tunnel's center. Avoid touching anything with bare hands.
  5. Narrow the Tunnel: Make sure the tunnel's opening where you placed the traps remains narrow, forcing voles to pass through the traps.
  6. Cover the Hole: Cover the opening with a dark bucket to prevent light or fresh airflow from deterring the voles. Add soil around the bucket's edges to cover every opening.
