How to easily grow Limonium or statice plants from seed

You can start Limonium seeds 4 to 6 weeks before your last expected frost date or after. You can start them in 77-cell seed trays or bigger. If you start them in small cells you will have to pot them into larger pots, but the initial space to germinate seeds is much smaller, taking up less space.

As soon as you have acclimatized the plants to outdoor conditions for a few days and the danger of frost has passed you can plant them out into the garden. Support is not needed but it will keep the plants tidier.

If you like to use the flowers as cut flowers you can cut them when the flowers are about to open. If you pick the flowers too soon they will not open in the vase. Flowers will stay fresh for at least a week!
