The green bottom water and drip tray, designed to easily water your plants and seeds in Propagation Module Trays
The bottom water tray is intended to simplify watering of your plants and seeds. By utilizing the bottom water tray, you can avoid washing away your seeds and ensure that the soil of your seedlings stays moist. Watering from above may cause the growth of undesired fungicides on young plants, or heavy watering may result in the collapse of the stems of tender seedlings.
Additionally, watering from below promotes root growth and ensures that the soil in the cells has absorbed as much water as possible. When watering from the top we often found that the topsoil is wet but the rest of the soil is still dry.
The green tray can also function as a drip tray to catch any excess water that may drain from the propagation module trays, keeping your workspace clean and organized.
These trays are suitable for the bottom water and drip tray – 15 cells, 28 cells, 40 cells, 60 cells (CD60), 77 cells, 28 cells deep, 40 cells deep, 15 cells deep, and 77 cells deep.
– Module tray not included
– CD15 tray & CD30 tray and HR10 tray & HR20 tray have different dimensions and are not designed for the bottom water tray. However, 1x CD30 OR 1x HR20 can be used in combination with the green tray.
– The 28XL tray does not fit

How to use the drip and bottom water tray:
To bottom water plants and seedlings, you fill the green tray with water until above the inner edges. Place the seed tray on top and keep adding water until you no longer see changes in the water level or until the seed tray feels heavy. Remove the tray, empty the green bottom water tray, and place the tray with plants back on top.
If you leave the water in your plants will grow roots inside the green bottom water and drip tray and roots will not be air pruned.
If you like to use the green tray in combination with the transparent lid you secure the lid by pushing both sides of the green tray inwards.

Reviews
CD 60 seed tray and drip tray
The CD 60 seed trays are very sturdy and conveniently sized. I find it a great advantage that you can easily carry them with 1 hand. The drip tray fits them perfectly and makes indoor watering easier. I also included the book No dig by Charles Dowding with this order. Definitely recommended if you are interested in no dig and easier gardening.
Sustainable products and packaging
I start my seedlings indoors in my sunroom. This year I have more space to grow due to the compact and sturdy seed trays and the water reservoirs. Went on holiday for 4 days and was able to add water to the bottom of the trays and didn’t kill my plants. Everything is growing along beautifully now that we have some sun here in NL. Great communication and nice to order from a sustainable conscious company.
Solid seed trays with super fine drip tray
Finally grow trays that I can use for years. No drain pan/under tray that breaks or is too floppy. The bottom trays have partitions on which the grow box stands. This allows excess moisture to drain away. The size is nice. But also the choice of size of cells and depth. So far very positive.
