Productinformation
Cantaloupe melon variety Ogen (Cucumis melo)
This melon variety is suitable for cultivation in a colder climate within a greenhouse or polytunnel. Like a tomato plant, a melon also needs to be pruned. They require a lot of sunlight and warmth. Expect a few melons from a single plant during a warm summer. Even if your season is not the perfect fit, we can highly recommend trying to grow your own melons. Ogen melons are a type of Cantaloupe. The Ogen melons are also known as Ha’Ogen or Israel Cantaloupe. The skin has a netted structure.
Sowing and harvesting
- Start seeds around mid-March to mid-April indoors.

- When ripe, it slightly changes to a yellow color. The flesh should be white to yellow and sweet
Advice and tips

- Plant the rootball on top of a nylon rope and string it up (don’t use natural material because it will decay after a few weeks)
