Dibber with a stainless steel point
A dibber is a handy tool to quickly make holes into your garden beds so you can pop in your seedlings. After sowing seeds in the sturdy seed trays plants will grow. As soon as the roots have filled the entire cell you can easily lift the seedlings or transplants from the cells. The compact clump of soil and roots is easy to hold and handle and can be popped into the “dibbered” holes.
Depending on the pressure and diameter of the circled movement you make with your arm the holes become deeper and larger. We use a dibber for all transplants or seedlings up to the 28 low cell sizes. For plants that have been growing in the 28 high and 15 cell seed trays, we use a small garden trowel of bulb planter. We especially use the stainless steel dibber to quickly plant out a lot of spinach, salad, herbs, and lots and lots of flowers for our small cut flower garden.
